During the summer, the CAP
program is offering two-hour summer workshops at the Englehart Public Library.
These free introductory
courses are for all ages, and cover a wide variety of topics and interests.
The 2-hour courses being offered are:
Introduction to Computers:
A preliminary start-from-scratch course offered for those who are new to
the functions of a computer. It focuses on computer components, getting
around Windows, starting programs, creating and saving files and folders,
etc.
Internet Basics:
For those who are familiar with computers but not with the Internet, this
is the course for you. Internet Basics deals with getting online,
searching for topics and accessing websites, and familiarizing yourself
with what's out there.
Graphics Media:
A course geared to learning about different graphics and media programs.
Topics include taking photos and editing digital images with computer software,
scanning images and creating a variety of computer graphics.
Spreadsheets:
An introductory course that deals with the Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
program, which is used to make organized tables and charts for compiling
data.
Webpage Design Basics:
A course that teaches the basic tools in order to design your own website.
Topics include adding pictures and text, creating links, and getting your
site onto the World Wide Web
