What is it?
Under CAP, public sites such as local schools, libraries and community centres act as "on-ramps" to the Information Highway and provide support on how to make the best use of the Internet. It gets communities small and large thinking about how they can use information technology to improve their community.
The Internet has become a powerful tool for economic and social development in today's global knowledge-based economy. The Government of Canada is committed to providing affordable access to the Internet to all its citizens, especially low-income, disadvantaged and young Canadians.
CAP's affordable access is an excellent way for individuals and communities to learn about the Internet, develop information technology skills, exchange ideas with others, research information, post community events, or connect to government programs and services. The CAP Program is a community's opportunity to explore the advantages of using computers and electronic networking.
Each access point is staffed with skilled and knowledgeable personnel who are there to help make your Internet experience simple and enjoyable. They'll answer your questions and guide you through every step of the way.

The program has been actively involved in not only general patron education and technical support, but in offering a variety of group and one-on-one workshops on different aspects of computers and the Internet. The program also runs week-long computer camps during the summer, allowing children to become familiarized with the advantages of computer knowledge. Also, CAP Englehart is able to offer many computer-related public services, including resumé assistance, graphic services, webpage assistance and much more.
